About the job

Architects and builds a deterministic, highly available industrial-controls runtime for energy and process systems, from hardware I/O through execution and external interfaces.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement runtime execution, including scheduling, timing, state handling, and fault containment.
  • Build industrial I/O layers and drivers, and design high-availability features such as hot/standby redundancy and failover.
  • Develop configuration, diagnostics, telemetry, testing, and validation approaches with controls and cross-functional engineering teams.

What they ask for

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including deep ownership in a relevant systems or high-reliability software area.
  • 5+ years designing, implementing, or operating software where timing, fault handling, hardware interfaces, redundancy, recoverability, or deterministic behavior materially mattered.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Based in the United States; willing to work on-site in Austin, TX and travel as needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience in industrial automation, embedded systems, runtime systems, or another high-reliability physical-world domain.
  • Experience with real-time software, redundancy, industrial protocols, RTOS or embedded Linux, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
