About the job

Leads a hands-on engineering team responsible for turning research methods into reliable, observable, and scalable production simulations of human behavior.

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop a team of Simulation Engineers while setting technical direction and remaining involved in architecture, code, and incidents.
  • Own simulation quality and production operations, including evaluation, reproducibility, observability, performance, reliability, incident response, and safe releases.
  • Establish production handoffs and feedback loops across research, evaluation, product, platform, infrastructure, and deployment teams.

What they ask for

  • Prior strength as a software, machine-learning, or systems engineer, with continued ability to work deeply in code and architecture.
  • Experience leading a small engineering team that shipped and operated an AI, ML, data, or distributed system in production.
  • Ability to debug failures across data, prompts, orchestration, statistical assumptions, services, and user-facing outputs.
  • Willingness to work in person in New York City five days a week; located in the New York metropolitan area or open to relocation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with LLM applications, agentic systems, multi-agent frameworks, model orchestration, or inference-time computation.
  • Experience with model evaluation, experimentation platforms, synthetic data, forecasting, probabilistic models, or simulation and distributed-compute systems.

AI focus

Productionize and operate AI-agent simulations of human behavior, including evaluation, calibration, reproducibility, scaling, and debugging model behavior.
