About the job

Own and execute research that advances model reasoning at scale, from designing tasks, data, and reward signals through live training and production deployment.

What you'll do

  • Develop and run a research agenda for scalable model reasoning, including long-horizon tasks and robust verifiers.
  • Analyze model failures and create data, benchmarks, and reward signals supporting alignment, safety, and improved behavior.
  • Work with engineering on data pipelines, internal tools, and deep learning implementations.

What they ask for

  • Strong software engineering skills and deep Python; able to own and debug systems end to end.
  • Built evaluations, RL environments, agent harnesses, verifiers, or execution sandboxes.
  • Shipped research into production, particularly post-training, distillation, and high-stakes evaluation.
  • Worked on large-scale agent systems, including orchestration, tool APIs, distributed execution, observability, and logging.

Nice to have

  • PhD in CS, ML, or NLP and publications at NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR (neither required).
  • Experience with public benchmarks or task suites, RLHF or RLAIF, or large expert or annotation operations.

Pay

$250,000 - $450,000 USD base salary

Tools

Python, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, Terminal-Bench, SWE-bench-style harnesses, HCAST, RLHF

AI focus

Foundational reasoning research, agentic tasks and evaluations, post-training, alignment, safety, and reward-signal design for frontier models.
