Engineering Manager (AI)

What you'll do

• Manage, hire, and develop a team of 5–6 AI and backend engineers; lead planning and delivery.
• Design and review compliance agents, reusable skills, tools, and memory; write and review code about 50% of the time.
• Own agent evaluations, regression testing, and production monitoring, and select models based on accuracy, cost, and latency.

What they ask for

• 2+ years managing engineers directly, including hiring and performance reviews.
• 6+ years as a software engineer, with strong backend skills in Python or TypeScript.
• Built and shipped LLM agents to production.
• Practical experience designing tool/function-calling interfaces, reusable skills or prompt modules, agent memory, and release-gating evaluations.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, regtech, fraud, identity verification, or another regulated domain.
• Document AI, LLM observability and tracing, cost and latency optimization, or relevant open-source contributions or public writing.

$185K – $230K USD base salary
