Build and lead Airwallex’s global first-line commercial risk function, creating frameworks and governance that support sustainable growth and sound risk decisions.
What you'll do
- Own commercial risk strategy and customer/use-case supportability frameworks; guide complex or high-risk merchant opportunities.
- Translate risk appetite and policies into commercial playbooks, controls, and processes, and establish continuous portfolio monitoring.
- Lead incident reviews and remediation, and partner across commercial, data, legal, risk, and compliance teams.
What they ask for
- 10–12 years of financial-services risk management experience, including substantial first-line or business-aligned work with front-office or Sales teams.
- Deep expertise in at least two of: credit and portfolio risk; payments or merchant risk; operational and conduct risk; enterprise risk.
- Track record designing and implementing practical risk frameworks that influence commercial strategy within a Three Lines of Defense model.
- Experience with commercial risk strategy, supportability frameworks, portfolio monitoring, incident remediation, and senior stakeholder partnership.
Nice to have
- Experience in a high-growth, product-led fintech, particularly payments, issuing, FX, or modern banking.
- Familiarity with global regulatory and scheme frameworks for B2B fintech, including KYC/AML, sanctions, card network rules, and data privacy.
