About the job

Own battery system architecture and analysis for small electric vehicles, shaping battery design, operating strategy, performance, and integration.

What you'll do

  • Lead battery trade studies and build electrical, thermal, and degradation models to guide architecture and product decisions.
  • Define battery charging, operating strategy, requirements, and BMS constraints in partnership with controls and embedded teams.
  • Plan cell evaluation and testing, support hardware and vehicle bring-up, and correlate models with measured data.

What they ask for

  • Deep understanding of lithium-ion cell behavior, thermal characteristics, and degradation.
  • Hands-on battery modeling expertise using Python, MATLAB, and Simulink.
  • Experience developing or validating EV or electrified-powertrain duty cycles and translating them into battery requirements.
  • Ability to translate cell and pack behavior into BMS hardware and firmware requirements; BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Nice to have

  • Cell characterization experience and familiarity with BMS state estimation algorithms.
  • Experience with Ansys Mechanical, Fluent, Icepak, or equivalent; fast-charge protocol development; or small EVs and light electric mobility.
