About the job

Develops machine-checked proofs that cryptographic implementations are correct, while contributing to algorithm implementation and optimization for AWS-LC and production AWS services.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain machine-checked correctness proofs for cryptographic implementations; specify low-level code and verify it with interactive theorem provers.
  • Apply formal methods, program analysis, and testing to improve assurance in a security-critical codebase.
  • Contribute to implementing and optimizing cryptographic algorithms, including post-quantum constructions, and collaborate on production-grade, FIPS-validated software.

What they ask for

  • 3+ years of building models for business application experience.
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or related language; experience in a listed technical area and coursework or research in a listed formal-methods, cryptography, or mathematical-logic area.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with an interactive theorem prover (HOL Light, Isabelle/HOL, Lean, Coq, or Verus); experience specifying or verifying low-level software.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic primitives, post-quantum cryptography, or low-level systems programming.
