Machine Shop Manager

What you'll do

• Manage shop operations, job scheduling, throughput, maintenance, and performance metrics across CNC machining and additive manufacturing.
• Hire, develop, and manage machinists, programmers, and additive manufacturing technicians, with accountability for safety, quality, and delivery.
• Partner with design and manufacturing engineers on manufacturability, machining strategy, and first-piece quality.

What they ask for

• Experience in engineering team management.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent practical experience with Journeyman Machinist certification or relevant technical/trade degree.
• 7+ years of CNC machining experience, including at least 3 years leading or managing a machine shop team.
• Hands-on CNC programming or machining background; CAM and CNC control proficiency; 5-axis machining, workholding, and complex setup troubleshooting; prototype/high-mix experience; GD&T and precision measurement knowledge; additive manufacturing experience.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of machining experience with progressive leadership in advanced hardware, aerospace, robotics, or R&D prototype environments.
• Experience managing CNC and additive manufacturing operations together, establishing a shop, capital equipment management, metal additive manufacturing, or lean improvement.

Pay

USD 151,000.00 - 204,300.00 annually (base salary)
