Principal Engineer, Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX)

What you'll do

• Define technical strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmaps for high-impact platforms and distributed systems.
• Raise engineering standards through design and code reviews, operational practices, and mentorship; influence decisions across teams.
• Improve the software development lifecycle, including opportunities involving Generative AI and agentic development.

• Extensive professional software development experience, including designing and architecting large-scale systems.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed, or highly concurrent systems and services.
• Deep expertise in software design patterns, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence; proficiency in one or more modern programming languages.
• Experience leading technical direction across multiple teams; bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Principal Engineer or equivalent; mentoring senior engineers and developing technical leaders.
• Experience with developer-facing platforms or tools, Generative AI or agentic approaches, or building services on AWS.

Pay

230,100.00 - 311,200.00 USD annually (base salary); 220,100.00 - 297,700.00 USD annually (base salary); 200,100.00 - 270,600.00 USD annually (base salary)
