About the job

Develop and evaluate robotics foundation-model machine learning systems so robots can perceive, reason, and act robustly in real-world environments.

What you'll do

  • Fine-tune and optimize models for specific tasks, environments, and robot embodiments; conduct reproducible experiments bridging simulation and real-world deployment.
  • Build benchmarks and evaluation tools, and contribute to data curation, training workflows, infrastructure, and APIs.
  • Collaborate across research, controls, hardware, and product teams; document and communicate research findings and best practices.

What they ask for

  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience.
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
  • Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or a related language; 2+ years of hands-on deep learning experience in at least one stated area: computer vision, multimodal models, imitation learning / RL for robotics, or human-robot interaction.
  • Ability to design rigorous experiments, analyze results, and iterate quickly with reproducible baselines; demonstrated technical contributions such as publications, patents, open-source, or impactful internal systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop or Spark.
