About the job

Own compliant grasping mechanisms and robotic end-of-arm tooling from concept through production, designing for high-cycle reliability, manufacturability, and field serviceability.

What you'll do

  • Lead mechanical design through production and sustaining support, including CAD, analysis, prototyping, drawings, supplier selection, verification, and production ramp.
  • Design for reliability and scale using fatigue analysis, tolerance analysis, failure-avoidance methods, and serviceable, manufacturable designs.
  • Characterize mechanism behavior, define durability validation, investigate field failures, and mentor engineers.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience taking electromechanical products from concept through scale production.
  • Extensive experience designing mechanisms integrating actuators, sensors, and moving assemblies, and designing for manufacturability, assembly, and tolerance analysis.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and 2D detailed drawings, including GD&T (ASME Y14.5); experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and fault-tree analysis.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing compliant, underactuated, or adaptive grasping mechanisms and robotic grippers or end-of-arm tooling.
  • Experience with high-cycle fatigue, field serviceability, compliant-mechanism modeling, actuator selection, or drivetrain design.

Pay

137,300.00 - 185,700.00 USD annually (base salary)

Tools

3D CAD, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), DFMEA/PFMEA, fault-tree analysis, linear/non-linear FEA, low-order or pseudo-rigid-body models
