Software Development Engineer, AWS OpenSearch Service

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed control-plane components, accounting for failure modes, multi-tenant isolation, and blast radius.
• Own systems end-to-end, participate in incident response and root-cause analyses, and improve reliability, cost, and maintainability.
• Build solutions for cluster orchestration, capacity provisioning, lifecycle workflows, query routing, and operational tooling; use AI coding and GenAI tools with engineering judgment.

What they ask for

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• At least 1 year of experience designing and developing large-scale software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl; at least 1 year of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice to have

• 3+ years across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay

143,700.00 - 194,400.00 USD annually (base salary)
