Sr. Software Development Engineer, Amazon Q

What you'll do

• Design and deliver scalable, highly available, secure, low-latency systems connecting foundation models with customer context, AWS knowledge, retrieval, APIs, tools, and actions.
• Lead initiatives end to end, defining architecture and technical direction and overseeing implementation, launch, operations, measurement, and improvement.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across design, testing, observability, deployment, and operations.

What they ask for

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
