Mechanical Engineer, Support System

What you'll do

• Design, prototype, test, and refine support systems and ground servicing equipment, including launch, recovery, transport, fueling, charging, and payload-handling equipment.
• Develop ruggedized systems for austere land and maritime environments, applying safety practices and maintaining configuration control.
• Integrate vehicle-to-ground mechanical, electrical, and fluid interfaces with Airframe, Powertrain, and Mission Systems teams.

What they ask for

• BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience owning the design, analysis, build, and functional test of complex physical hardware or mechanisms.
• Strong foundation in first-principles mechanical design, structural packaging, material selection, and 3D CAD modeling; familiarity with system safety practices, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation methodologies.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience developing GSE, launch/recovery mechanisms, mobile heavy equipment, or aerospace/defense transport and packaging solutions.
• Expeditionary operations experience, familiarity with high-voltage battery systems, electric powertrains or fluid/fueling systems, fabrication or aircraft maintenance experience, or military/defense contracting background with UAS.

Pay

$132,000 — $175,000 USD (base salary)
