About the job

Debugs and fixes field-reported issues in autonomous maritime vehicle software, reproducing failures, validating fixes, and documenting root causes.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and reproduce field anomalies using recorded data, logs, metrics, and visualization tools; identify the layer where the issue originates.
  • Implement tested fixes across relevant software subsystems and validate them in simulation or hardware-in-the-loop before rollout.
  • Document root causes, help establish the on-call/triage runbook, and coordinate with subsystem owners on systemic fixes.

What they ask for

  • Experience debugging code you did not write under time pressure and with incomplete information.
  • Comfort reading and fixing code in at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, and Go.
  • Systems-debugging skills, including logs, metrics, and offline reproduction from recorded data; prior exposure to observability tooling.
  • Linux and systems fluency; willingness to work near hardware and sensors and travel 25%+ on average.

Nice to have

  • Robotics middleware, sensor drivers, real-time data pipelines, or simulation-in-the-loop/hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • CI/CD or versioned embedded/fleet deployments; on-call or field-support experience for shipped hardware.

Pay

$166,000 — $220,000 USD (base salary)

Tools

Rust, C++, Python, Go, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK
