About the job

Debugs and fixes field-reported software issues across autonomous maritime vehicle systems, validating fixes through simulation and standard deployment processes.

What you'll do

  • Reproduce and diagnose field anomalies using recorded data, logs, metrics, and visualization tools; determine whether the cause is software, configuration, or deployment.
  • Implement and test fixes across relevant subsystems, then ship them through CI and versioned rollout; validate in simulation or hardware-in-the-loop where appropriate.
  • Document root causes and fixes, help develop an on-call/triage runbook, and escalate issues requiring changes by subsystem owners.

What they ask for

  • Experience debugging code you did not write under time pressure and with incomplete information.
  • Comfort reading and fixing code in at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, and Go.
  • Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus/Grafana-class metrics or Loki/ELK-class logs.
  • Linux and systems fluency; willingness to work close to hardware and sensors and travel 25%+ of the time on average.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics middleware, sensor drivers, or real-time data pipelines.
  • Experience with simulation-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop testing, CI/CD and versioned deployments for embedded or fleet software, or on-call/field support for shipped hardware.

Pay

$166,000 — $220,000 USD (base salary only)

Tools

Rust, C++, Python, Go, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK
