About the job

Debugs and fixes field-reported issues in autonomous maritime vehicle software, from reproducing and diagnosing failures through testing, deployment, and documenting root causes.

What you'll do

  • Investigate field anomalies using recorded data, logs, metrics, and visualization tools; identify the responsible subsystem and root cause.
  • Implement and test fixes in the relevant codebase, validate in simulation or hardware-in-the-loop where appropriate, and deploy through CI and standard versioned rollout.
  • Document issues and fixes, help develop the on-call/triage runbook, and coordinate with subsystem owners when broader changes are needed.

What they ask for

  • Experience debugging code you did not write under time pressure and with incomplete information.
  • Comfort reading and fixing bugs in at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, and Go.
  • Systems-debugging skills, including using logs and metrics and reproducing issues offline from recorded data.
  • Experience with observability tooling; Linux and systems fluency; willingness to work close to hardware and sensors and travel 25%+ on average.

Nice to have

  • Robotics middleware, sensor drivers, or real-time data pipeline experience; simulation-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • CI/CD and versioned deployment for embedded or fleet software; on-call or field-support experience for shipped hardware.

Pay

$166,000 — $220,000 USD (base salary)

Tools
