About the job

Owns control architecture and develops, simulates, and validates control algorithms for high-performance power converters, inverters, and motor drives for defense and aerospace systems.

What you'll do

  • Design and validate closed-loop controls, plant models, and controller architectures for power converters, inverters, and motor drives.
  • Perform stability analysis, loop shaping, and compensator design; collaborate with hardware and firmware teams on implementation and device tuning.
  • Define and execute HIL/PHIL test plans and contribute to topology, modulation, and control trade studies.

What they ask for

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Simulink and/or PLECS for control modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Strong control-theory foundation, including z-domain and s-domain design, bode analysis, state-space methods, and discrete-time implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-kW discrete SiC and/or GaN FET power stages; eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

  • MS/PhD focused on power electronics controls or control systems.
  • Embedded firmware, model-based code generation, real-time HIL platforms, advanced modulation, reliability, or EMI mitigation experience.
