About the job

Designs and validates electrical systems for spaceborne EO/IR sensor payloads, from architecture and prototypes through flight hardware.

What you'll do

  • Define electrical architecture, power distribution, harnesses, and communication interfaces for sensor payloads.
  • Design and test power electronics, protection circuitry, and EMI/EMC measures; support radiation-tolerant component selection.
  • Integrate and validate designs with interdisciplinary teams, including test execution and, as needed, leading small engineering teams.

What they ask for

  • 8+ years designing power, interface, or mixed-signal electronics for space, airborne, or other harsh-environment defense systems.
  • Experience designing isolated DC/DC conversion, EMI filters, and transient or over-voltage protection for low-voltage DC systems.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC design and test methods, connector/harness definition, and parts or wire derating analysis.
  • Strong hardware debugging skills and proficiency with schematic capture/circuit simulation and worst-case stress/derating analysis.

Nice to have

  • Radiation-tolerant electronics and TID/SEU analysis; high-speed interfaces such as 10GbE or SERDES and signal integrity analysis.
  • PCB layout, hybrid microelectronics, EO/IR payload electronics, machine-vision protocols, or embedded Linux/firmware interfaces.

Pay

$147,000 — $196,000 USD (base salary)

Tools

10GbE, RS-422, I2C, SPI, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, Altium, Cadence
