About the job

Own and deliver the mathematical optimization and solver systems that schedule shipyard production and rapidly replan work after factory disruptions.

What you'll do

  • Formulate production scheduling constraints and objectives; integrate and benchmark optimization solvers.
  • Build fast local repair and background global re-planning, including schedule stability and quality evaluation.
  • Turn schedules into dispatchable work orders and partner with manufacturing teams to reflect operational needs.

What they ask for

  • Deep numerical optimization expertise and experience formulating real-world problems as mathematical models and deploying them in production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with optimization solvers or libraries; expert Python skills and scientific computing foundations in NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
  • Experience with large-scale scheduling or resource allocation and reliable systems under operational constraints.
  • Advanced degree in a related quantitative field, or equivalent depth built in practice; U.S. Person status required.

Nice to have

  • Ph.D. or experience in RCPSP, job shop scheduling, or dynamic rescheduling.
  • Experience with metaheuristics, decomposition, C++ or Rust optimization code, manufacturing systems, or non-traditional optimization hardware.
