About the job

Defines architectures and models, tests, and validates spaceborne EO/IR sensor systems, using performance analyses to guide system trades and delivery.

What you'll do

  • Define system architectures through trade studies and analyses, and develop physics-based performance models and requirements.
  • Lead prototype sensor development and support laboratory, field, and flight testing; validate models against test data.
  • Coordinate with hardware, software, mission teams, and stakeholders to integrate and deliver systems.

What they ask for

  • Model development and validation in a domain relevant to remote sensing.
  • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts with defined interfaces and requirements.
  • Experience in system design and development from concept through test and customer delivery.
  • Strong laboratory skills, including rapid prototyping and design of experiments, and familiarity with opto-electrical test and measurement equipment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with space sensors and systems.
  • Experience with industry-standard EO/IR modeling software packages such as MODTRAN, SPIRITS, or AFSIM.
