About the job

Defines, models, tests, and validates spaceborne EO/IR sensor architectures and performance, using analysis to guide system-level trades and development.

What you'll do

  • Define system architectures through trade studies; develop physics-based performance models and derive requirements.
  • Develop prototype sensor systems and support laboratory, field, and flight testing; validate models against test data.
  • Coordinate with hardware, software, mission teams, and stakeholders to integrate and deliver systems.

What they ask for

  • Model development and validation in a remote-sensing-relevant domain.
  • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts with defined interfaces and requirements.
  • Experience in system design and development from concept through customer test and delivery.
  • Strong laboratory skills, familiarity with opto-electrical test equipment, willingness to travel to test sites, and ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge or experience in advanced sensing, active/passive sensing, laser systems, electro-mechanical controls, signal processing, or space systems.
