About the job

Own thermal management and integration of Antares’ Power Conversion System, from heat budgets and heat-rejection architecture through hardware testing, life management, and design updates.

What you'll do

  • Develop and manage the PCS thermal energy budget, heat-rejection and cold-sink architecture, recuperator integration, insulation, and personnel-protection limits.
  • Manage thermal interfaces and transient requirements across PCS components, the reactor, and safety systems; support test design, instrumentation, and model correlation.
  • Address temperature-limited hardware life through design mitigations, inspection and maintenance plans, and collaboration across engineering teams.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or a related engineering discipline, or 5+ years for Senior Engineer, including hands-on analysis, hardware design, build, and test.
  • Experience with thermal analysis using hand calculations and FEA or CFD to size, configure, or qualify hardware.
  • Experience designing thermal-management hardware for high-temperature systems and sizing or integrating heat exchangers or heat-rejection paths for real operating and ambient conditions.
  • Experience correlating thermal predictions with test data, revising designs, and owning thermal interfaces or requirements across multiple subsystems.

Nice to have

  • Industry experience in Nuclear, Aerospace, Automotive, Power Generation, Motorsports, or Oil and Gas; or experience with recuperators and air-cooled or dry heat rejection.
  • Experience with thermal-mechanical fatigue, creep, high-temperature design codes or materials, thermal instrumentation, life assessment, or commissioning first-of-a-kind hardware.

Pay

$140,000 - $185,000 (base salary); $115K – $185K (compensation; type not specified)
