What you'll do

  • Design compressor and turbine stages and flow-path components; support architecture trades, sizing, and performance modeling.
  • Analyze rotating hardware for stress, structural life, aerodynamic forcing, and vane-blade interactions.
  • Correlate predictions with component and rig tests, investigate development issues, and implement design improvements.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing compressors, pumps, and/or turbines.
  • Strong understanding of turbomachinery aerodynamics and experience with structural analysis of rotating components.
  • Knowledge of fatigue, creep, and modal resonance in high-speed rotating hardware; ability to make engineering tradeoffs.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline; 7+ years designing high-performance turbomachinery.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical, CFX, BladeGen, TurboGrid, AxSTREAM, PUMPAL, or NX; experience with forced-response analysis or test correlation.
