About the job
Own billing accuracy, reconciliation, and financial controls across Anthropic’s billing systems, ensuring changes meet SOX requirements and have appropriate testing and audit evidence.
What you'll do
- Own reconciliation and accuracy checks and design detective controls to identify billing errors.
- Partner with engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Audit to automate checks, review financially impactful changes, and maintain test strategies and audit evidence.
- Lead cross-team controls owners and manage billing error triage, data contracts, and financial impact assessments.
What they ask for
- Experience building or owning an end-to-end financial ledger, billing reconciliation, or cash reconciliation system relied on by Accounting to close the books.
- Strong hands-on SQL skills and accounting knowledge covering order to cash, month-end close, and materiality.
- Experience with SOX and Internal Audit, including IT application controls, detective controls, functional test evidence, and auditor walkthroughs.
- Experience defining data contracts between billing or product systems and finance systems; able to drive cross-functional work without direct authority.
Nice to have
- Engineering experience building financial ledgers or reconciliation systems; experience with usage-based or multi-party billing.
- Experience automating reconciliation, testing, or evidence collection using AI tools, or with billing and finance tools such as Stripe, Metronome, Zuora, NetSuite, or Workday Financials.
