About the job

Build and operate the production backend services that process Claude’s generated tokens, keeping the safety-systems sampling path reliable, low-latency, and cost-efficient.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and operate token-generation-path systems and their streaming contract with APIs and inference engines.
  • Own latency and reliability SLOs, incident response, performance, and safe rollouts.
  • Set technical direction, lead design reviews, make trade-off decisions, and mentor engineers.

What they ask for

  • Production accountability for high-QPS systems at global scale, including incident response and remediation.
  • Strong distributed-systems foundation, including replication, consistency, failure modes, and SLO management under load.
  • Design for graceful degradation when dependencies or deployments fail.
  • Experience shipping broad changes to mission-critical systems.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with LLM inference systems and transformer-based models.

Pay
