BSME degree.

About the job

Design and develop cooling fan modules for Apple computers, from aerodynamic analysis and mechanical design through validation, vendor implementation, and mass production.

What you'll do

  • Design cooling fans and analyze aerodynamic performance using CFD; integrate airflow and acoustic requirements with Thermal Design and Noise & Vibration teams.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings, develop module mechanical designs, and account for manufacturability, reliability, cost, aesthetics, and environmental impact.
  • Plan and analyze validation experiments, interpret prototype data, resolve design failures, and work with vendors and tooling engineers on implementation.

What they ask for

  • BSME degree.
  • Experience in engineering analysis of aerodynamic designs using CFD software.
  • Typically 5+ years of mechanical part design experience in processes such as injection molding, stamping, forging, die casting, or CNC.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D drafting/modeling software and 2D mechanical drawing layout; familiarity with GD&T or SPC or Cp/Cpk.

Nice to have

  • MSME degree; prior high-volume consumer product design or prototype design experience.
  • DC brushless motor design experience; AI/ML design tool experience.
