About the job

Assesses material-level reliability risks in new product designs and develops testing and mitigations to improve material performance and product quality.

What you'll do

  • Identify material failure risks and develop stress tests based on failure physics and expected use and field conditions.
  • Analyze test data and failure root causes, then guide design and process mitigations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to implement reliability testing and improve material performance.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, etc.).
  • Understanding of how material properties, processing, and structure affect product performance.
  • Experience in or collaboration with a lab environment focused on material failure root cause.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and communicating results; able to identify failure root causes and corrective actions from multiple data sources.

Nice to have

  • M.S. or PhD in a listed engineering or materials discipline.
  • Familiarity with failure characterization methods, FMEA, reliability modeling, statistical tools such as Weibull or JMP, or accelerated test models.
