About the job

Build and ship computer vision and vision-language models that help Apple devices recognize and understand objects in real-world settings.

What you'll do

  • Design, train, and improve computer vision and VLM models for object understanding and recognition.
  • Improve model robustness across real-world conditions and devices, using real data to identify and fix failures.
  • Define product-quality evaluations and design models for on-device memory, latency, and power constraints.

What they ask for

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong foundations in computer vision and deep learning, with end-to-end project experience spanning data, training, and evaluation on real-world visual data.
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch or an equivalent deep learning framework.
  • Proficiency with generative coding tools and rigorous experimentation, including clear baselines, ablations, and meaningful evaluation sets.

Nice to have

  • Publications at top computer vision or machine learning venues, ideally with released code or product transfer.
  • Experience with representation learning, industry or product ML, knowledge distillation or model compression, or vision-language models.

Pay

$150,400 and $277,600 (USD, base salary)
