About the job

Sets capacitor technology strategy and leads materials evaluation and supplier development from concept through mass production across Apple product lines.

What you'll do

  • Set technology direction for non-MLCC capacitor families and predict performance from materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Bridge cross-functional Apple teams and global suppliers to develop and deliver capacitor solutions.
  • Manage development programs and evaluate supplier materials, processes, and reliability.

What they ask for

  • Extensive professional expertise across polymer, film, and safety capacitors, including material characterization, reliability, and construction-to-performance modeling.
  • Deep materials science and electrochemistry knowledge, including dielectric formation, sintering, polymer behavior, and capacitor failure mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with PDN and EMI filter topologies, power supply design, IEC safety frameworks, regulatory requirements, and consumer-device reliability.
  • At least 5 years of direct, on-site capacitor manufacturing experience; PhD in a listed field and at least 5 years of relevant capacitor or passive-component experience.

Nice to have

  • Track record leading passive-component development from concept to mass production across multiple capacitor families.
  • Experience with PFAS-free qualification and supplier transitions; MLCC or supercapacitor/EDLC familiarity is a plus.

Pay

$144,600 and $263,800 (base salary)
