About the job

Tests and validates robotic hand hardware for Apptronik’s Dexterity R&D program, developing test plans and fixtures, executing tests, and feeding findings back into hardware design.

What you'll do

  • Plan, assemble, and execute component- through system-level hardware tests; analyze data and report findings and design recommendations.
  • Design and build test fixtures, and advise mechanical and electrical teams on testability during hardware development.
  • Support wiring harnesses and use the PLM system to maintain test documentation and hardware-revision records.

What they ask for

  • Hands-on mechanical or electromechanical hardware testing, including instrumentation, data collection, and analysis.
  • Ability to write structured test plans with pass/fail criteria and traceable documentation; design and build test fixtures or benchtop setups.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and datasheets; familiarity with data acquisition systems and benchtop instruments.
  • Python competency for data processing and analysis; systematic debugging and root-cause analysis; ability to leverage AI agents for debug and development support.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotic hand, gripper, or dexterous manipulation hardware; wire harnessing; PLM; or CAD.
  • Experience in mechanism characterization, electromechanical linear actuator testing, or an R&D/prototype development environment.
