About the job
Own and advance steady-state and dynamic thermodynamic models for a direct-fired supercritical CO₂ Brayton power system, using simulations and test data to guide performance, controls, and validation.
What you'll do
- Run performance predictions and sensitivity studies, compare results with test data, and refine models.
- Build and maintain cycle models, component representations, and simulation infrastructure.
- Work with engineering teams on component integration, closed-loop simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop planning.
What they ask for
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or related Engineering field.
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer applied to integrated systems.
- Experience building dynamic fluid/thermal system simulations in an industry-grade 1D platform; articulate tool tradeoffs for closed-loop power cycles.
- Programming proficiency in Python and one of MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, or equivalent.
Nice to have
- Experience with dynamic simulation platforms such as GT-SUITE, Modelica/Dymola, NPSS, Flownex, or Simcenter Amesim.
- Experience with supercritical CO₂ or closed Brayton cycles, HIL testing, or related thermal-fluid systems.
