About the job

Own and advance steady-state and dynamic thermodynamic models of a direct-fired supercritical CO₂ Brayton power system, using simulations and test data to support validation, controls, and system development.

What you'll do

  • Run performance and sensitivity studies before test campaigns, compare predictions with test data, and refine models.
  • Build and maintain cycle models, including property tables, turbomachinery maps, heat exchanger transients, and combustor representations.
  • Develop simulation tools and collaborate across engineering teams on closed-loop simulation and hardware-in-the-loop planning.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or related Engineering field.
  • 4+ years of experience in cycle performance analysis, thermodynamic systems modeling, or dynamic process simulation.
  • Experience building dynamic fluid/thermal system models in an industry-grade 1D simulation platform.
  • Strong thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer fundamentals; working knowledge of power-loop equipment; Python and one of MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, or equivalent.

Nice to have

  • Experience with dynamic simulation platforms, supercritical CO₂ or closed Brayton cycles, or high-pressure/high-density working fluids.
  • Experience with HIL or control-system coupling, nuclear thermal-hydraulics, plant commissioning, or advanced turbomachinery environments.

Pay

$140,000 - $155,000 USD/year (base salary)
