About the job

Designs, trains, and interprets foundation models that learn from raw, multimodal sensor data to understand and reason about the physical world.

What you'll do

  • Develop sensor-data foundation models and methods for representation learning, multimodal alignment, and self-supervised learning.
  • Adapt pretrained models to new datasets, sensing modalities, environments, and use cases; diagnose failures and run experiments to improve performance.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to bring research into production, and publish and share research findings.

What they ask for

  • 8+ years of experience developing advanced ML/AI systems, focused on real-world sensor data.
  • Expertise in deep learning architectures, especially transformers, representation learning, and large-scale model training.
  • Strong research and experimentation skills, including designing and evaluating new approaches.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with LLMs.
  • Experience with self-supervised or contrastive learning on large unlabeled datasets, or with large-scale or distributed training.

Tools

Python, PyTorch, transformers, LLMs, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR

AI focus

Research and build foundation models for real-world sensor data, including multimodal learning, representation learning, and self-supervised learning.
