About the job

Develop production planning systems that route and coordinate autonomous haul trucks across mining sites, from individual trajectories to fleet assignments.

What you'll do

  • Design motion-planning algorithms and multi-vehicle coordination systems to generate safe trajectories and prevent collisions or deadlocks.
  • Build simulation and visualization tools, and optimize planning algorithms for real-time production use.
  • Debug fleet-level issues with logged data and replay tools, and collaborate with controls engineers to ensure paths are executable.

What they ask for

  • BS/MS/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional (non-internship) software development experience.
  • Strong foundation in motion planning algorithms and experience with computational geometry.
  • Proficiency in Python and NumPy; understanding of vehicle kinematics and nonholonomic constraints.

Nice to have

  • Experience with multi-agent coordination or scheduling algorithms, trajectory optimization, or graph algorithms.
  • Knowledge of GEOS, Shapely, or other computational geometry libraries; familiarity with fleet management, Redis, ZeroMQ, or ML techniques for planning.

Pay

$176,000 - $240,000 per year (base salary)

Tools

Python, C++, NumPy, Shapely, Numba, SciPy, Redis, ZeroMQ

AI focus

Familiarity with modern ML techniques for planning problems is preferred; the role develops planning and coordination systems for autonomous haul trucks.
