About the job
Develops and ships microcontroller firmware that controls Base’s batteries, inverters, and disconnect systems, from board bring-up through field deployment.
What you'll do
- Build control, sequencing, fault-handling, and safety logic, including deterministic real-time control within timing constraints.
- Bring up new hardware and develop drivers, BSP/HAL integration, and reusable firmware libraries.
- Develop device communications and firmware-update flows, and partner with hardware engineers on design and integration.
What they ask for
- Hands-on experience shipping bare-metal and/or RTOS firmware on modern microcontrollers, including taking one or more products to manufacturing.
- Deep expertise in C/C++, including memory management, ISR-safe patterns, and compiler and runtime behavior.
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets and work with hardware and power electronics engineers.
- Strong firmware architecture and root-cause debugging skills.
Nice to have
- Experience designing deterministic real-time control and protection on multi-core MCUs.
- Experience with CAN/CAN-FD and higher-level protocols such as ISO-TP and UDS, or familiarity with power electronics, grid-tied inverters, or battery management.
Tools
C/C++, ARM Cortex-M, CAN, CAN-FD, ISO-TP, UDS, BSP/HAL
