About the job
Leads the electrical architecture, design, validation, manufacturing transition, and field improvement of Base’s energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and interconnect devices.
What you'll do
- Set electrical architecture and technical direction; own specifications, topology selection, schematics, PCB strategy, bring-up, validation, and reliability testing.
- Build and lead an electrical engineering team while driving embedded systems and power-converter design across the product portfolio.
- Collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams to move products into production, own end-of-line testers, and resolve system-level electrical issues.
What they ask for
- 10+ years of electrical system design experience, including significant work on energy storage, inverters, EV charging, motor drives, or similar high-power systems.
- Experience taking complex electrical products from architecture through production ramp and field deployment.
- Strong PCB design and hands-on bring-up/debugging skills; able to run transient thermal simulations in MATLAB or Python.
- Experience with embedded systems, control theory for power conversion, automotive or industrial communication protocols, lab equipment, and leading or mentoring engineers.
Nice to have
- BSEE or higher, particularly focused on power electronics.
- Experience with UL/CSA/IEC certification, electric motor design, thermal simulation, mechanical integration, or high-volume manufacturing and DFM/DFT.
