About the job
Build and operate Block’s card-issuing platform, applying deep card-network expertise to network integrations, certification, and reliable financial systems.
What you'll do
- Lead complex engineering work at the card-network boundary, partnering across teams and with networks to resolve requirements and shape solutions.
- Write production code, build certification and conformance tooling, analyze network messages, and lead certification and mandatory release cycles.
- Establish shared engineering practices, mentor engineers, apply AI tools, and share on-call and incident-response responsibilities.

- Personally built, certified, or operated a live direct network connection; experience working directly with networks to achieve concrete outcomes.
