Staff Software Engineer, User Targeting

What you'll do

• Architect and build real-time systems and extend the ClickHouse pipeline with new filters and attributes.
• Own product development and core segmentation systems, from defining customer needs through launch and ongoing optimization.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, collaborate across teams, and improve operational stability.

What they ask for

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on full-stack development or backend services, particularly high-scale, high-throughput systems.
• Proven delivery of customer-facing products on high-scale data systems, from problem definition through launch and adoption.
• Proven experience building foundational data-driven systems at scale, such as streaming, real-time pipelines, or large-scale data platforms.
• Ability to drive architecture and large technical initiatives, alongside deep understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, and SQL/NoSQL databases; experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or data lake solutions.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, distributed systems, API design, and monitoring; passion for customer experience.

Pay

CA$220,000–CA$359,213 annually (base salary); CA$244,000–CA$398,400/year (OTE, including bonus or commission)
