Provides safe perioperative care, coordinates operating-room readiness, and supports surgical procedures in circulating and scrub roles.
What you'll do
- Assess and document patient status; ensure patient safety during the intraoperative phase.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, instrumentation, case carts, and surgeon preference cards; process instruments and handle specimens.
- Ensure adherence to the Universal Protocol and applicable standards; help educate new hires.
What they ask for
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control, sterilization, instrument processing, and operation of steam sterilizers.
- Knowledge of Spaulding Classification, AORN Standards and Recommended Practices, and Universal Protocol.
- Ability to prioritize operating-room equipment needs; excellent organizational and communication skills.
- RN and BLS required; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
