About the job

Build AI-native database systems and infrastructure for structured, unstructured, and vector data, including retrieval, LLM-enabled querying, and agent memory.

What you'll do

  • Architect AI-native databases and storage engines for embedding ingestion, multimodal retrieval, and real-time AI workloads.
  • Build distributed vector search and AI-augmented query systems, and contribute to RAG infrastructure and LLM agent memory backends.
  • Advance learned indexes, self-optimizing databases, and AI-integrated transaction systems; contribute to research and open source.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, with strong systems or AI research experience.
  • 2+ years in core database systems, large-scale distributed infrastructure, or machine learning systems.
  • Strong coding and system-level design skills in C++ / Rust / Go.
  • Deep expertise in at least one listed area: storage engines, vector retrieval, AI/model-serving infrastructure, or semantic search and agent systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Faiss, Milvus, DuckDB, ClickHouse, TiKV, or RocksDB; or publications at accredited conferences.
  • Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure database and AI integration strategies; or prior contributions to RAG, memory-augmented models, or self-tuning databases.

Tools

C++, Rust, Go, Faiss, Milvus, DuckDB, ClickHouse, TiKV

AI focus

Develop AI-native databases, vector retrieval, LLM-enabled query processing, RAG infrastructure, agent memory backends, and AI-integrated database systems.
