San Jose, California · Full-time · Posted Oct 28, 2026

Education
PhD in EE, ECE, CS, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline; candidates must be completing or have recently completed it.

About the job

Develops efficient machine-vision camera systems and perception algorithms for next-generation VR/MR/AR cameras and see-through experiences.

What you'll do

  • Develop power- and compute-efficient machine-vision perception systems, including camera hardware and software.
  • Design experiments and test platforms to evaluate visual performance; optimize algorithms and frameworks for edge devices.
  • Define specifications for next-generation VR/MR/AR cameras and see-through experiences.

What they ask for

  • Completing or recently completed a PhD in EE, ECE, CS, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Direct experience with cameras or optical image sensors and computer vision on real images.
  • Hands-on experience physically building and prototyping real systems, such as PCB, FPGA, sensor/optical front-end bring-up, or embedded systems.
  • Research-level computer vision, efficient perception, or foundation-model experience, plus strong Python and C/C++ programming.

Nice to have

  • Experience at the hardware–algorithm intersection, including sensor-algorithm co-design, near-/in-sensor compute, event cameras, computational imaging, or efficient/edge perception.
  • VLM/LLM/foundation-model use for perception, edge deployment or AI-accelerator-aware design, 3D vision/reconstruction, or image-processing pipelines.

Tools

CMOS/CIS, Python, C/C++, Matlab, PCB, FPGA, VLM/LLM

AI focus

Machine-vision perception and efficient edge-device algorithms; preferred work includes leveraging VLM/LLM/foundation models and AI-accelerator-aware model design.
