Processes FOIA requests for a large federal agency, including reviewing records, drafting correspondence, coordinating searches, and determining what information may be released.
What you'll do
- Receive, analyze, and track new and backlogged FOIA requests; prepare request folders and correspondence.
- Communicate with requesters and agency or contractor staff, negotiate request scope, and coordinate searches for responsive records.
- Review records for responsiveness, identify duplicates, and ensure released materials do not include exempt information.
What they ask for
- Three years of experience processing FOIA requests.
- Knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations, including applying exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
- Experience redacting records containing trade secrets and confidential commercial information.
- At least an Associate's Level Degree; ability to obtain a government security clearance.

- Prior federal government experience.
- Experience with FOIA EXPRESS or SecureRelease; active security clearance preferred.
