Forward Deployed Strategist

What you'll do

• Run technical discovery, advise on customer architecture and migration plans, and define correctness, latency, and cost standards for Chalk designs.
• Design and execute scoped POCs and agentic solutions, including evaluation and safe operation in customers’ clouds.
• Coordinate account technical direction across sales, delivery, account management, and support, and relay field learnings to product and engineering.

What they ask for

• Depth in production infrastructure and understanding of how live systems fail.
• Experience advising engineering teams on systems you did not build.
• Strong Python and SQL; ability to build prototypes and reference implementations and discuss a customer’s codebase.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, storytelling, and analytical skills; ability to work across teams and give candid advice.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying software into a customer’s own cloud or making AI agents reliable against production systems and data.
• Domain depth in fraud, payments, underwriting, identity, recommendations, pricing, or logistics; Rust or C++.

$180K – $250K (base salary)
