What you'll do

  • Define and execute the observability platform vision, partnering with software teams on consistent service instrumentation and distributed tracing.
  • Build and maintain OpenTelemetry enablement for Go and Python, and operate observability platforms and telemetry pipelines.
  • Establish logging and cardinality practices and advance agent-driven analysis of observability health signals.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 12 years of platform services or DevOps experience with observability ownership; or Master’s plus 8 years of related experience; or PhD plus 5 years of related experience.
  • 2+ years using Splunk Cloud for logging and Splunk Observability (or SignalFx) for metrics and traces.
  • Experience with distributed tracing concepts, instrumentation, and managing scope and overhead.
