Distinguished Hardware Security Engineer Hybrid/Remote

What you'll do

• Set hardware and embedded-software security standards, requirements, and technical direction across Cisco products.
• Architect roots of trust, firmware resiliency, cryptographic device identity, and anti-tamper protections; advise engineering leaders and customers on security decisions.
• Represent Cisco in industry standards groups and mentor hardware security architects and technical leaders.

What they ask for

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in hardware systems design, silicon security, or embedded architecture.
• Track record as a Distinguished Engineer, Fellow, Chief Architect, or senior technical leader driving hardware security strategy at a top-tier networking, semiconductor, or hyperscale cloud company.
• Deep knowledge of networking systems, board-level design, FPGA/ASIC development, product lifecycle, applied cryptography, PKI, key management, and hardware security countermeasures.

Nice to have

• Contributions to hardware-security standards groups; experience with post-quantum cryptography, platform resiliency, secure enclaves, anti-tamper, or authenticated lifecycle management.
• Experience leading security certification or compliance programs, or conducting hardware security assessments and testing.

Pay

$252,300.00 to $321,200.00 USD base salary; $284,700.00 - $449,500.00 USD base salary (New York City Metro Area); $272,000.00 - $398,000.00 USD base salary (Non-Metro New York state & Washington state)
