About the job
Design, simulate, lay out, characterize, and support integrated photonic components and circuits from early concepts through qualification and volume production for optical communication products.
What you'll do
- Design and model photonic components and circuits; create parameterized GDS layouts and support foundry development and production tapeouts.
- Characterize devices at die, wafer, and assembled-device levels; analyze measurements against models, process variation, packaging, and system performance.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to transition PIC designs into commercial products and support integration, qualification, manufacturing ramp, and production.
What they ask for
- Experience in solid-state physics, integrated photonics, optoelectronics, and electromagnetic theory.
- Experience applying numerical methods and simulation tools such as FDTD, HFSS, COMSOL Multiphysics, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with photonic-device fabrication processes and how fabrication tolerances affect device performance.
- Experience with photonic-device layout, GDS generation, design-rule compliance, and tapeout.
Nice to have
- Experience executing large-scale PIC tapeouts through commercial foundries.
- Experience designing and testing PICs for optical transceivers or high-speed optical interconnect systems.
