Principal Designer - Cisco Cloud Control

What you'll do

• Evolve the guidelines into an adopted, continuously improving capability and define information architecture, taxonomy, naming, and experience rules.
• Establish and run a cross-functional guild to manage contributions, decisions, exceptions, and escalations.
• Partner with design, engineering, and product teams to encode guidance as machine-readable rules and use AI and automation to support validation and adoption.

What they ask for

• Bachelor’s + 15 years, Master’s + 12 years, or PhD + 8 years of related experience, or equivalent related work experience.
• 10+ years in product design, information architecture, design systems, content architecture, or a closely related discipline, including principal-level or equivalent scope.
• Experience shaping information architecture for complex digital products or platforms, including taxonomies, naming systems, conceptual models, and capability placement rules.
• Experience stewarding multi-team design guidelines, standards, or governance frameworks, and applying generative AI, agents, or automation to relevant workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, multi-product ecosystems, developer platforms, or cross-organizational working groups.
• Familiarity with machine-readable design guidance, agent workflows, MCP, skills, evaluation rubrics, AI-enabled development tools, or design systems and content governance.

Pay

$233,900.00 to $330,400.00 USD base salary; $233,900.00 - $380,000.00 USD base salary; $220,900.00 - $344,300.00 USD base salary
