Principal Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Define Kubernetes platform architecture and translate product, customer, and engineering needs into designs and implementation plans.
• Align teams around reusable architecture and identify dependencies, failure modes, lifecycle gaps, and migration risks.
• Drive incremental modernization while preserving customer trust, compatibility, and operational quality.

What they ask for

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• 5+ years designing, building, or operating production distributed systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, including workload orchestration, operators/controllers, or cloud-native deployment patterns.
• Bachelors + 15 years, or Masters + 12 years, or PhD + 8 years of related experience, or equivalent related work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes operators, control planes, developer platforms, infrastructure automation, or large-scale platform services.
• Applied experience using AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly for code comprehension, review preparation, test planning, incident triage, documentation, or migration analysis.

Pay

$250,600.00 to $362,600.00 USD base salary; $250,600.00 - $416,900.00 USD base salary; $241,400.00 - $371,000.00 USD base salary
