Staff Data Engineer

What you'll do

• Build and maintain ingestion, transformation, and reverse-ETL systems; improve data quality, freshness, and reliability.
• Define and maintain semantic and metrics layers, including quality measurement for HEDIS and Stars.
• Partner with Applied AI, BI, clinical, product, and platform teams to support trustworthy data use and self-serve analytics.

What they ask for

• 6+ years of experience as an engineer building trustworthy systems.
• Production-scale hands-on experience with dbt and SQL, including orchestration with Dagster, Airflow, or equivalent.
• Experience owning production operational or reverse-ETL data systems and designing or maintaining a semantic or metrics layer.
• Understanding of how LLMs consume structured context; fluent daily use of AI assistant tooling for engineering and data analytics, and demonstrated ability to scale AI adoption.

Nice to have

• CS degree or equivalent; experience in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment.
• Direct BigQuery experience; exposure to healthcare and clinical data, including ADT, HEDIS, CMS Stars; or experience building self-serve analytics for non-technical stakeholders.

Pay

$153,000.00 - $210,000.00 USD annual base salary
